Fall 2004 New Student Training Handouts

Letter to New Graduate Students 2004
This letter from Larry Gibbs, Associate Vice Provost for Environmental Health and Safety welcomes new graduate students to Stanford and refers to EH&S reference information provided by academic departments in laboratory safety training sessions.

About SafetyTrain; Web Based Safety Training
Employees, students, and sponsored visitors at Stanford may now take four safety training courses via the web (SUNet ID and password required).  The content of these courses is the same as the powerpoint presentations given at live training classes. This method of training is great for people who can not come to a classroom training or just prefer the convenience of that method of training.

The four courses currently available are:
General Safety/Emergency Preparedness (EHS.103)
Chemical Safety(EHS.105)
Biosafety (EHS.107)
Compressed Gas Safety (EHS.153)

Please visit the About SafetyTrain website to access information or link directly to the web based SafetyTrain program (http://safetytrain.stanford.edu)

Please review the Fall 2004 New Student Training Calendar to see all the scheduled New Student Trainings. If one of your students misses your department training, you may check with other department training coordinators to see if they have room at their session.
