Courses

Courses given in the Department of Asian Languages have the subject codes CHINGEN, CHINLIT, JAPANGEN, and JAPANLIT.

(WIM) indicated the a course satisfies the Writing in the Major requirement.

General courses are open to all undergraduate and graduate students, are taught in English, and do not require a knowledge of an Asian language.

All language courses with subject codes CHINLANG, JAPANLANG, and KOREANLANG are administered by the Language Center.

Students interested in literature and literary studies should also consult course listings in the departments of Classics, Comparative Literature, English, French and Italian, German Studies, Slavic Languages and Literatures, and Spanish and Portuguese, in the Program in Modern Thought and Literature, and in the Division of Literatures, Cultures, and Languages.
