Cash Gifts
The most common type of gift is the gift of cash -- it is simple, straightforward, and as easy as writing a check. And, because charitable gifts qualify for federal tax deductions, the real out-of-pocket cost of a cash donation is usually much less than its face value: you save whatever tax you would have owed on the amount of the gift.
For record purposes, a gift of cash is considered made on the date it is mailed or hand delivered. Please make checks or money orders payable to the Catholic Community at Stanford. Gifts may be designated to a specific program by including that program's name in the memo line of your check. If you would like to contribute to our endowed programs, please see them in our Endowment section.
Advantages to cash donations:
- Simple and quick
- Charitable income tax deduction
- The Church can make immediate use of your gift
- Estate tax and probate savings
- Click here to make an online donation through the secure ParishPay website. -
To mail your cash contribution, please download and complete the Adobe PDF form below and send it in with your cash donation.

Gifts in Kind
Another common type of gift is a Gift-In-Kind. In-kind gifts include services, facilities, or sponsorship. For example, the Catholic Community at Stanford would consider the donation of space in your home for a community meeting or sponsoring an undergraduate dinner as an in-kind gift. Another example would be if you were to provide your company's services to us (i.e. Printing of Program Brochures). We rely on in-kind gifts to help to fulfill our mission and reduce expenses. If you are interested in donating a service or facility, please contact our Business Manager, Kathryn Gray (kgray@missionsupportservices.net\ , 650/857-9014)
If you have provided a Gift-In-Kind for any of the events/services within the Catholic Community, we would like to thank and recognize you. Please fill out the form at the bottom of this page.
Advantages:
- Recognition from Catholic Community for your service
- Charitable income tax deduction
- The Church can make immediate use of your gift
Item Donations
Many items have been donated to the Catholic Community at Stanford. If needed, students can come to a location to pick up your generous donation. If you need ideas for items that the Catholic Community needs, please see our wish list below.
Advantages:
- Opportunity to make a unique and substantial gift to the Church
- Charitable income tax deduction
- The Church can make immediate use of your gift
- Avoid capital gains tax
- Estate tax and probate savings
