Saturday, 16 November 2013: Fall Concert, "Motets of the Millennium"

The Chorale welcomes guest conductor Jameson Marvin, Director of Choral Activities, Emeritus at Harvard University to open the 2013-2014 season. The concert features a program of richly varied works by Palestrina, Josquin, Ockeghem, Brahms, Bruckner, and Marvin, as well as excerpts from Frank Martin's stunning Mass for double choir.

The Chorale welcomes guest conductor Gregory Wait, Director of Vocal Studies at Stanford, to conduct our winter quarter concert. Featured will be motets by Bach, Titov, and Chesnokov; Morten Lauridsen's radiant Nocturnes; spiritual arrangements by Moses Hogan; and other works by Schubert, Poulenc, Casals, and Verdi.





Saturday, 26 April 2014: Department of Music Admit Weekend Showcase Concert

A special program for students admitted to the class of 2018 and their families and friends, featuring the Chamber Chorale, Stanford Taiko, the Stanford Laptop Orchestra (SLOrk), and student soloists from the Department of Music.




Friday, 16 May 2014: The Holy City: A Festival of English Choral Music

Under the direction of guest conductor Craig Jessop, the Chorale joins with the Stanford Symphonic Chorus and the Ragazzi Boys Chorus to present Ralph Vaughan Williams' rarely-performed oratorio Sancta Civitas. Also featured on the program are Vaughan Williams' The Old Hundredth Psalm Tune and Five Variants of 'Dives and Lazarus', as well as Gustav Holst's Two Psalms.





Saturday, 31 May 2014: Spring Concert

The Chorale welcomes guest conductor Craig Jessop - Dean of the Caine College of the Arts at Utah State University, and director of the Mormon Tabernacle Choir 1999-2008 - to lead the Chorale in an exuberant performance of Monteverdi's 1610 Vespro della Beata Vergine. We are thrilled to collaborate with period-instrument ensemble The Whole Noyse and the Cantabile Youth Singers, directed by Elena Sharkova, to present the Baroque splendor of Monteverdi's masterwork in the acoustic grandeur of Stanford Memorial Church.





Sunday, 15 June 2014: Commencement Family Concert

Admission: free

The Chorale presents an informal 45-minute concert for family and friends visiting campus for Commencement. The program features repertoire by Monteverdi, Martin, and Brahms alongside spiritual arrangements by Moses Hogan.
