My adventure in the South this summer obviously includes all the perks. Hurricane Bertha is on its way to the Carolinas as we speak. 100mph winds could be exciting but Spartanburg is fairly inland and the locals assure us not to be worried.

Otherwise, training is going well. We are working out about 7 hours a day but the rest of the day is filled with treatment for all the nagging injuries with our trainer, team meetings, and films. What I don't understand is that coaches still seem to squeeze in some golf almost every day. Of course since we are being treated like royality the coaches are being invited to every country club in the area. It must be nice. I will have my day in the sun one day.

Tonight we are heading for Greensboro, North Carolina for an Olympic Send Off exhibition with the girls team tomorrow night. I don't know if it's televised or not. It's going to be more of a show than a competition. We will fly down to Atlanta Sunday morning and start podium training Monday in the Georgia Dome. Podium training could be considered a dress rehersal on the competition equipment without the judges. They will be in the stands basically getting a sneak preview of the routines. Amazingly, even these practices sessions are sold out (40,000 seats).

Take care
