PASU CORE

Committees

PASU is led by two Co-Chairs and is further subdivided into committees, all in charge of spearheading vital projects. Each committee has its own set of chair positions and freshman interns to help the organization run smoothly.

Kababayan

Through workshops, conferences, speakers, and other activities, Kababayan—the Tagalog word for fellow countryman—seeks to empower students to take action on the various social, political, economic, and cultural issues affecting the Filipino community today. Kaba organizes the annual Pilipino Youth Leadership Conference (PYLC) and workshops concerning such topics as immigration, workers’ rights, human rights, and the Filipino/Filipino-American experience. This year will also mark the beginning of Isulong, Stanford’s very first publication for Filipino issues and current events.

Kayumanggi

Kayumanggi, the Tagalog word meaning "brown-skinned" is a Filipino dance troupe at Stanford. We are open to all and no experience is necessary. We perform traditional Filipino folk dances that are as diverse as the many different islands in the Philippines. Kayu aims to promote awareness of Filipino culture through dance, art, music, and drama. We hope to create an outlet for self-exploration and discovery, encouraging inclusiveness and openness not just among Filipino-Americans, but with the greater Stanford and Bay Area community.

Kayumanggi performs throughout the year for numerous Stanford University events as representatives of Filipino culture. The year culminates in an annual Spring Show, where we showcase our repertoire of dances framed by a dramatic skit that addresses several aspects of Filipino identity.

Community Service

Have you ever walked down University Avenue and noticed a few of the hungry, unhoused persons sleeping on the streets? Or realized that many Filipino veterans have been neglected recognition by the American government for their service in World War II? The affirmation of each person's moral, dignified worth is central to PASU's Community Service Committee. Annual projects include Mano Po, an event partnered with the Bayanihan Community Center to honor the Filipino veterans, and health awareness events like Relay for Life with the American Cancer Society and LIVERight with the Asian Liver Center, in addition to regular events with SPOON, Stanford's Project on Hunger, Night Outreach to the Homeless, and other service organizations. By mobilizing the greater Stanford community to outreach to the neglected, with special focus to our Filipino brothers and sisters, we celebrate the spirit of hospitality that is endemic to the Filipino heritage.

Kapatid

Kapatid is PASU's committee promoting mentorship between current Stanford students and the youth of the Bay Area. The Kapatid Mentorship Program currently focuses on the Filipino students of Fremont High School in Sunnyvale, but has collaborated with other schools and youth programs, including providing student panels for high school and middle school field trips to Stanford University.

Social

PASU social is undoubtedly the most awesome committee there is. Why is that so? We try to create events that are not only a lot of fun but that also foster a sense of openness, community and most importantly, pamilya. In addition to building unity within PASU, we also aim to build strong relationships with other API groups on and off campus through social mixers and collaborations on events. We not only plan small events such as barbecues and field days but we also help to take on larger events and projects such as Friendship Games, a California-wide Filipino-American conference in Southern California; PASU Sib Families, which help integrate incoming freshmen and transfers into the PASU and Stanford community by giving them upperclass mentors; and PilGrad, our own special way of honoring our graduating seniors. In case it wasn't obvious, Social loves PASU and Stanford and WELCOMES THE CLASS OF 2014!

Treasury

The PASU Treasury is an integral part of the community. Many of the events, from simple social gatherings to Kayumanggi's annual spring show, are funded by money received through the ASSU and The Stanford Fund (TSF), and the treasurers are the ones who are in direct communication with those sources. The treasurers are responsible for collecting budgets and receipts, meeting with officials, reimbursing individuals, and making sure that PASU gets the money that it deserves.

Secretary and Alumni Relations

Alumni Relations Chair is PASU's youngest position in core, created in 2008 in order to celebrate PASU's 20th anniversary and build a stronger alumni network between current and former members of PASU. Aside from sustaining relationships amongst alumni, Alumni Relations aims to give insight on the lives of former members--what they're doing now and what fond memories they recall of PASU during their years at Stanford. As our network grows and grows, PASU hopes utilize our student alumni to establish mentorship programs, host career panels, and plan reunions, so that we all stay one strong pamilya even after Stanford!

Publicity

PASU holds a great number of events open to the entire Stanford community, but the world would never know about such wonderful things without the work of the Publicist! The Publicist is responsible for making PASU visible, which includes the creation and distribution of flyers, videos, and other materials; this also includes updating the very website you are visiting!

Gabriel Guimte

Co-Chair Person

Hi, my name is Gabe, and I am very excited to serve as one of the chairs of PASU this year. I was born in the Philippines and now live in Bakersfield, CA with my parents and three younger brothers. I am currently a senior majoring in Mechanical Engineering. In my free time, I enjoy learning and practicing different languages, singing and listening to a wide variety of music, playing and watching tennis (especially Serbian tennis), good movies and television, cooking and eating, creating and admiring design, and NOT dogs, or most animals, for that matter. As a co-chair, I hope not only to lead, but also be of support to our core and general members' wonderful projects and ideas. I hope that you will not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions, comments or suggestions regarding PASU, or even just to talk...or sing... -->

Kyle Zaragoza

Co-Chair Person

My name is Kyle. I hate bile. I run a mile. My name's not Lyle. Let's chill for a while! I have a nice smile.

Bryant Cabrera

Co-Chair, Kababayan

Bryant Cabrera is a Junior majoring in Human Biology with a concentration in Nutrition and Human Behavior at Stanford University. He was born and raised in Los Angeles. He draws his inspiration and courage from his mom, Ligaya Cabrera, who raised him as a single parent.

He advocates for minority communities by organizing and participating in community rallies, awareness campaigns, and relief efforts. He works closely with communities in the greater Los Angeles county. He is a member of Samahang Pilipino, Queer Pin@y Conference 2009, and the United Khmer Student Association at UCLA. He is a member of the Pilipino American Student Union, Kayumanggi, Asian American Student Association at Stanford, and Queer & Asian at Stanford,

He first got involved with Kayumanggi and Filipino dance in his freshman year of college at Stanford. Afterwards, he experienced the Pilipino Cultural Night phenomenon at UCLA. From there, he made connections with Kayamanan Ng Lahi, with which he studied Filipino art, tradition, and culture during the summer before his Junior year. He has worked closely with Kayamanan Ng Lahi, learning about organizational development and choreography techniques for his role as last year’s Kayumanggi co-chair.

In the greater community, he is involved in Anakabyan Silicon Valley and NAFCON.

He is a member of the Khmer Student Coalition of California, South East Asian Leadership Network (Project Cambodia 2009), Los Angeles Jr. Philharmonic, and the California Masonic Scholars Program.

Sup ma homies, I go by The Bromar, and I follow The Bromar's rules. The Bromar demands respect at all times. The Bromar wrassles with alligators, sets em sail - Handcuff lightning, put thunder in jail.

Geraldine Baniqued

Co-Chair, Kayumanggi

Hey! My name is Dindin and I'm a sophomore thinking about majoring in engineering. I really enjoy being a part of PASU and I'm thrilled to be a Co-Chair for Kayumanggi this year, having been an intern for the Kayu Kingdom last year. I really enjoy dancing and am also active in Common Origins, a hiphop dance group. I also love the Liverpool Football Club, La Furia Roja, traveling around the world, shopping, watching shows, listening to all kinds of music, learning Kpop dances and making fun of Manchester United fans. Being from the bustling and humid streets of Manila, I am having a blast soaking up the freedom of the California sun and cannot wait for another amazing year in Stanford.

Yay!

Monica Climaco

Co-Chair, Kayumanggi

Hi! My name is Monica Climaco and I'm a junior majoring in Urban Studies, and minoring in Chinese and Creative Writing. During my freshman year, I was an intern for Kababayan (then known as Issues) and last year I was one of the co-chairs. This year, I am incredibly excited to be one of Kayumanggi's co-chairs. Originally from Cebu City, Philippines, I moved to New Jersey with my family in 2001. Despite the move, I still feel really strong ties to Cebu. I love mangoes, ice cream, bubble tea, music, reading, writing, dancing, swimming and spending time with friends and family. I'm looking forward to another great year with PASU and I can't wait to see some fresh faces at our events and dance practices!

Gabriel Ramos

Co-Chair, Kayumanggi

Hello! My name is Gabriel Ramos and I am a senior majoring in the Biological Sciences with intention to go to medical school! I was born and raised in the Midwest (Fort Wayne, IN to be exact), but have been a wannabe Californian since I got to Stanford. Dance is a big part of my life and I love to dance. I started off in PASU as a social frosh intern, but then went on to become a Kayumanggi, the Pilipino dance troupe, Co-chair my sophomore year and now am back to do it all again! As a performer and choreographer and leader, Kayumanggi has allowed me to learn more about my culture and heritage and I hope to be able to foster that type of growth in everyone who is involved in Kayumanggi, whether that be as a performer or an audience member.

Jennifer Jenks

Co-Chair, Community Service

My name is Jenny

Jade Marcos

Co-Chair, Community Service

Hey Guys! My name is Jade Marcos. I’m a sophomore majoring in Biology and planning to take up medicine in the future. I was born in the Philippines, specifically Laoag City, Ilocos Norte (yes I'm ilokano), but have spent most of my vacations in Manila and Nueva Ecija as a kid. I moved to San Mateo, California (USA) in 2006 with my family. I was the frosh intern for the Community Service committee (CommServ) last school year 2010-2011. I enjoyed my time with PASU, going to the various events and hanging out. I also danced with Kayumanggi, Stanford’s Filipino Folk Dance Troupe. I can speak tagalog and for any of you interested in learning, talk to me :) Besides all this PASU shiz, I also dance for Common Origins (a Stanford Hip-Hop dance group) and plan to get involved in a tutoring group on campus. Personally, I enjoy reading, playing badminton, singing, dancing, watching TV (hulu lol), and spending time with friends. Last summer, I spent two and a half months in the Philippines, rekindling connections with family and friends, visiting tourist spots, and basically just enjoying the homeland, speaking tagalog and ilokano more than ever. Pumped up by my summer vacation of experiencing the Philippines, I am so excited about serving the Filipino-American community in the Bay Area as PASU’s Community Service Chair with Jenny Jenks :)

Robert Firme

Co-Chair, Kapatid

Like, hello! My name is like...ROBERT! Like OMG! I'm like sososososo excited to meet all of the new like PASU members this year! Like totally! I'm like totally into high school kids, but not like in that creepster way, DUH! I totally like being awesome mentors, and I think you would have a great time at Kapatid too! Kisses!

Co-Chair, Kapatid

N-Neckties rule.
D-Dumbo is my fave movie!
O-OMG, it's Kapatid!

Monica Castillo

Co-Chair, Social

Hey hey! I’m Monica Castillo from Elk Grove Village, Illinois, a suburb of Chicago, as you can tell from my tolerance of severe cold and my ChicAAAHHgo accent. I’m a sophomore majoring in Human Biology with hopes of going to medical school to become a physician. Last year, I was frosh intern for Kayu Kingdom, one of the most memorable experiences of my life. :) Besides PASU and Kayumanggi, I am also a member of the Chi Omega sorority, Common Origins, and Math Magic. I love playing the piano, taking pictures, and shopping for things that are pink and sparkly. I’m usually loud, always happy, and super duper excited to make your social life SPARKLE!

Carl Deguzman

Co-Chair, Social

Hey guys, my name is Carl. I hail from a place close to my thumb! Yeah MICHIGAN! I pride myself on being the coolest and smartest kid in my high school, not to toot my own horn. Beans! I love my beans although it gives me gas like no other. I guess that's why no one wants to do ab ripper x with me... No worries, bros, I won't eat beans during social events! Come meet me! I'm the tall Filipino dude wearing either a Michigan shirt, a Stanford shirt, or my "I'm a Pepper" shirt!

Kendrick Kho

Co-Chair, Treasury

Kendrick Kho was born at a very young age and is a sophomore who has no idea what he's majoring in. He was raised in the Philippines for several years, but comes from Hayward, CA. He likes to run around in circles, to sing in an embarrassing fashion, and to take naps. Plus, his life calling is skipping lectures.

Pearly Meixsel

Co-Chair, Treasury

Hello all! My name is Pearly Meixsel, and I am a sophomore currently considering International Relations as a major. I was born in Baguio City, Philippines, but my family currently lives in a small town in southeast Georgia. Last year, I served as a frosh intern for Social, and I look forward to being part of PASU Peso this year. Aside from spending time with PASU, my interests include travel, photography, soccer, and blogging. I can't wait to meet you all. Cheers!

Melissa Ada

Co-Chair, Sechistorians

Hey everyone! My name is Melissa Ada, and I am a rising junior, majoring in Human Biology with an Area of Concentration in the "Social and Ethnic Determinants of International Health." I am originally from Orange County, CA, and although I miss spending time with my family and friends at home, I have definitely found a family in PASU :) For freshman year, I was the Frosh Intern for the Secretary/Historian (SecHistorian) Committee, and for sophomore year, I was Co-Chair for Community Service. Now, it's like I'm a freshman again, as I return to PASU Core as Co-Chair for SecHistorian. In my free time, I like to play Yiruma's pieces on the piano, drink strawberry/tapioca/hazelnut milk tea with boba, play tennis with friends, go to Yogurtland (yum!!!), and shop at the Stanford Shopping Center. I love to travel, and last winter break, I went to Japan and the Philippines for the first time and really enjoyed my time there. In the fall, I will be studying abroad in Santiago, Chile, so unfortunately, I won't be able to meet the new freshmen... but I'm so excited for you guys and I can't wait to meet you all when I get back! :)

Patricia Limcaoco

Co-Chair, Sechistorians

Hey guys, I go by Pats, and I love hats. Cats? They're okay, but they're not like bats. I run to get rid of fats, and sometimes I do yoga on mats! Over heels, I prefer flats. Gnats are annoying, but not like brats. Come meet me, Pats, and I'll show you where the fun is at(s)!

Christian Ollano

Co-Chair, Alumni Relations

Hey guys! My name is Titus Sky, but some people call me Christian (but I prefer Titus). I love to sing and dance and all that jazz. I once climbed a really tall mountain, but later found out it was only a tiny hill in the Engineering Quad. That used to be my greatest accomplishment, but I now I suppose it wasn't as great as being co-chair of PASU last year! This year, I hope to connect current undergraduates with alumni through fun relations...like limbo! I'm a surely fun guy who likes fun things in fun places! Come meet me; I'm fun!

Clarissa Gutierrez

Co-Chair, Publicity

Hey guys, my name is Clarissa! And I gots a 'stache.

Sarah Espaldon

Frosh Intern, Alumni Relations

Hi! My name is Sarah Espaldon and I’m really excited to be a Frosh Intern for PASU this year as part of the Alumni Relations Committee. I was born in Manila, lived in Taiwan for two years, and moved to Cincinnati, Ohio when I was five years old. I am currently undecided about what I want to major in, but I’m considering studying International Relations, Management Science and Engineering, or Psychology. I love to sing, meet new people, and eat, with an emphasis on the eating. My favorite foods are mangoes, bananas, and apple pie, and I love pandesal and bibingka and sinigang with a passion. I’m really looking forward to getting to know everyone and learning more about all that PASU entails!

Jed Tan

Frosh Intern, Community Service

Hello, all. An adequate description of me can ONLY begin with my strange, but healthy obsession with moose (not meese or mooses). Athletically superior, moose can run at a speed of 35 mph and swim up to 10mph. I’ve run and swam with many moose in my short life, so I know whatsup. Airplanes in America collide with an average of 1 moose a year on runways, as well, and you know what, I am an invincible creature EXCEPT when it comes to being run over by an airplane. I AM MOOSE. Also, I happen to be one of the CommServe Interns. Other fun facts: I value my Vietnamese accent that only comes out late at night, and my eyes turn glow red because I am just plain FIERCE. I’m also great at chess. I’ll drink (apple juice) to that.

Debra Pacio

Frosh Intern, Community Service

HI! My name is Debra, and I like to keep things short and sweet like me! (Ok, 5'1.5" isn't too bad.) I'm a girl with the heart of an artist and the mind of scientist aspiring to be an English major and HumBio minor. Born in Baguio City, I moved to San Jose, CA at the age of 3 and have been a proud Bay Area resident since. Besides serving the community through amazing groups like PASU, I enjoy juggling, spending time with my family and friends, Tumblr-ing, throwing surprise birthday parties, baking, karoake, and writing! I hope to be a novelist one day, so look out for my name in print in the future! (Unless I get a pen name, that is.) I am also a superhero fanatic, and believe in the power of kindness and compassion. Did I mention I like cupcakes?

Kelly Nguyen

Frosh Intern, Community Service

Hello! My name is Kelly Nguyen (original, right? ha ha) and I am a freshman, with a prospective major in biomechanical engineering. I am from Gardena, CA. And yes, I am Vietnamese-American, but I am really interested in learning about the Filipino culture, and meet all of the AWESOME Filipino students at Stanford. Tee-hee for diversity within the Core! (: What's more? I LOVE TO VOLUNTEER! Community service was my big passion in high school, so being CommServ Intern this year is muy exciting. x)
list of other things:
1.) I heart lists
2.) I am in the following Stanford organizations: PASU (duh!), Amnesty International, Circle K, ProMo, SWE, EPATT tutoring, etc.
3.) I love poetry! D:
4.) Qualities to describe me: sometimes sarcastic, quiet-natured, drug-free, and cheesy <-- *yum*

Danielle Ola

Frosh Intern, Kababayan

Hola! My name is Danielle Marie Ola, but I go by Danielle and sometimes Dola (the Explola). I’m from the beautiful island of Kauai, home of the rainiest place on Earth and Lilo and Stitch.
I’m also one of this year’s three sexy Kababayan interns. We’re made of sugar, spice, and everything nice (and sometimes Kevin) and we’re all on a mission to save the world before bedtime. To assist my crime-fighting lifestyle, I’m interested in majoring in International Relations and/or History in addition to studying a few foreign languages on the side.
In my spare time, you will sometimes see me pretending that I’m musically talented in song, piano, or guitar. Alternatively, you will witness me playing video games (badly), reading (not really), or procrastinating (expertly). Though I’m usually reserved around others, I’m actually a huge fan of hearing others’ stories and sometimes, sharing my own. So don’t hesitate to get to know me! I can guarantee you won’t regret it (hopefully)!

Anna Casalme

Frosh Intern, Kababayan

ANNA HERE! My name is Anna Gabriella Sarangaya Casalme, and yes, I have a ridiculously long name because that’s how Filipinos roll. I’m a freshman (Can I get a '15?!) and I hope to major in Urban Studies, STS, or MS & E. But knowing me, I'm going to change my mind next week. In my nonexistent leisure time, I love immersing myself in language, art, culture, music, and strawberry (virgin) margaritas. I hail from gorgeous Chino Hills, CA and of course I miss home! But Stanford is now my buhay and PASU is my kapamilya. P.S. KABA (the committee that deals with Filipino issues) is awesome. For two reasons. 1) I’m an intern! 2) We have issues. Enough said.

Kevin Sunga

Frosh Intern, Kababayan

It is widely known that success comes in cans, not can’ts. Good for me, I eat a can of spinach every day, channeling my idol Popeye, the Sailor man. I’m a heavy advocate for canned foods because cans lead to success! Not too many cans though, because too many cans will lead you to have to sit on a different type of can with a bad case of diarrhea (first hand experience, man). I play the Uilleann pipes whenever I get a chance; in fact, come talk to me about it! I love obscure instruments. In my free time, I like to pet cows, high-five walls, make shoes out of trash bags, and take pictures of grass! I’m stoked to be one of the Kababayan interns. We CAN do it! Oh, my name is Kevin Sunga, by the way.

Lloyd Lucin

Frosh Intern, Kapatid

Hey guys, I’m Lloyd Lucin, but I also go by LLCooLucin. It is obvious how cool I think LLCoolJ is? While I can’t lick my lips as much as he does, I still idolize him (and Manny Pacquiao, of course). Good thing though, my advantage over my idols is that I can beat them in a dance off at any given time. I’m a pretty nifty dancer, and I will try to translate my awesome dancing skills into awesome mentoring skills as an intern for Kapatid.

Kathleen Estrella

Frosh Intern, Kapatid

[robotic voice here] Greetings, world. My name is Kathleen Estrella, and I am the one and only bionic woman. Manufactured in High Tech High School by teenage prodigies, I spend my nightlife saving high schoolers from my archnemesis Bionic Bunny (who is wrongly depicted in the cartoon show, Arthur, as a superhero). My nightlife is still full of saving high school with now the occasional problem set, but now, I want to work with high schoolers further as an intern for Kapatid.

Nathaniel Nunez

Frosh Intern, Kapatid

Hi, my name's Nate and I'm super excited to get involved with PASU Core and Kapatid committee during my first year as a Stanford undergrad! I'm interested in majoring in an engineering discipline, and in my free time I love to sing, play guitar, beatbox, and dance.

Jeremy Miranda

Frosh Intern, Kayumanggi

Yo whattupppp. It's Jeremy Miranda. I'm a frosh-intern for the sickest, baddest, and just straight up cuddliest committee out there--KAYUUUUUU…mangi. Ever since my awkward middle school years (when I got my feet continuously clipped in between the tinikling sticks), I always knew I wanted to be a part of the KAYU KINGDOM whattup. I love all kinds of dance (hip-hop, line dance, social dance, square dance, dougie, cat daddy, chicken dance, and others of the like) even though I look like a fool more than half the time.
Anyway, I'm from the QUEEN CITY (Charlotte, NC). I'd like to say I'm pretty chill. I hope I don't come off as shy at first, but I promise if you get to know me we'll be one of the following: bros, buds, partners, allies, siblings, kindred spirits, pals, chums, cronies, mates, amigos, homies, etc.
ps. i like sportsmangosswimminglumpianilagasinigangthecarolinatarheelsdukesucksthecarolinapantherschickfilaappleproductsrunningsportsmakingfriendsfootballbasketballsoccerstaringblanklyintospace. that is all.

Tony Tran

Frosh Intern, Kayumanggi

Look me up on google search (Tony Tran). YEE that’s me, son. JK, I’m not a part of Kaba Modern, but, now hey, I’m just as cool, and later, I’ll be just as famous. I figure I’ll be famous for my current hobby, which is to collect used cotton balls. Cotton ball sculptures are my specialty, and they go for a thousand dollars a pop. I’m soon incorporating machinery into my sculptures so they will be able to dance…in Kayumanggi, of which I am an intern =)

Kyle Abraham

Frosh Intern, Kayumanggi

Raised from a land far from here, the beautiful lands of San Jose, I was raised as a dancer extraordinaire. Well versed in belly dancing, fist pumping, krumping, booty popping, and vogueing, I am always looking for another dance outlet to express myself. I’ve recently come across traditional Filipino dance, and I am being introduced to this beautiful art as a Kayumanggi intern. Sadly, there are no booty poppin’ moves in most of the dances, but hey, watch for me in performances, my booty will undoubtedly be poppin’ cuz they just can’t stop! Trust me, I’m fierce like Kazaky, and I’ll show that on stage.

Lara Abaya

Frosh Intern, Kayumanggi

Sedimentary, igneous, and metamorphic rocks = me. You’re probably thinking, SAY WHAT, GURL YOU MAKE NO SENSE. I shall provide more insight on this seemingly silly statement. Sedimentary rocks are formed from sediument accumulating in layers over time and eventually hardening into rocks. Everything I’ve been through is represented by the sediment, and it is what makes me LARA ABAYA. Metamorphic rocks are formed under the surface of the earth from the change due to heat and pressure. As a younggun, I know I shall change over time. Igneous rocks are formed when magma cools and hardens. I’m a HOT MAMA, need I say more? I <3 rocks. If I could actually be a rock, I’d be one. A nice, shiny one. Then again, if I were a rock, I don’t think I’d be much help as a Kayu intern! I also am from Pebble Beach, CA.

Catherine Tadina

Frosh Intern, Publicity

HEY GUYS! My name is Catherine! We are all special people, but one of the reasons as to why I am special is because all of my senses are heightened. So, don’t talk about me because I heard it. Yeah you, I heard you whisper to Bob about how pretty I am (thanks, btw). Also, don’t forget to shower because my nose is especially sensitive. I can smell just how long ago your last shower was and how inefficient your teeth brushing was this morning. I will just get to know you on a REALLY sensitive, intense level. I’m a nice gal though, come meet me! PUBLICITY FTW!

Hannah Abalos

Frosh Intern, SecHistorian

Hi! My name is Hannah Abalos, and I'm a freshman from San Jose, California. Although I'm currently on the pre-med track, I'm a fuzzy at heart, and would love to major in the humanities (English? Comparative Literature? Classics? We'll see.). This year, I'm looking forward to connecting with my Filipino heritage through PASU, especially as a SecHistorian frosh intern (and through Kayu! Even though I seriously am not the greatest dancer out there...). As a totally irrelevant transition, some of my interests outside of PASU include manga, unintentional procrastination, sleeping, accidental procrastinating, reading the news, planned procrastinating, and most important of all, finding time to spend with God. That's very important to me. :)

Christina Medina

Frosh Intern, Social

Cold coolin at a bar, and I’m lookin for some action. But like Mike Jagger said, I can’t get no satisfaction. The boys are all around, but none of them wanna get with me. My threads are fresh and I’m lookin def, yo, what’s up with L-o-c? The boys is all jockin at the other end of the bar, having drinks with some no-name chump, when they know that I’m the star. So I got up and strolled over to the other side of the cantina, I asked the guy, “Why you so fly?” he said, “Funky Cold Medina”. –Tone Loc . I hope y’all know that I’m a Funky Cold Medina, as termed by Tone Loc, and I’m a sure fit for the social committee!

Lai Turn

Frosh Intern, Social

Hey, turn around. I’m Lai Turn, and I turn heads. Why? Bc I’m all that, you know what. I’m down for all things yellow. Why? Yellow has an L. Like Lai. Yeah, you got that right. Don’t get me wrong, I don’t discriminate. All colors are welcome in my book, but yellow is the shizznit. Now, I am a social butterfly, I fly from flower to flower, making friends with all youse creatures, and come meet me, another one of the pasu social interns!

Albert Alix

Frosh Intern, Social

Hello! I'm Albert and I am a freshman planning on majoring in Civil Engineering. I am enjoying my time here at Stanford. I look forward to being involved with PASU and going to the events. Aside from PASU, I like longboarding, swimming, playing soccer, hanging out with friends, and taking pictures. On my spare time, I collect thumb tacks. That means don't get on my bad side or else you'll get a thumb tack stuck to your booty. I'm great with my hands and arts and crafts. My latest project was a magic carpet. Hit me up, and we'll discover a "whole new world"! Just call me Aladdin (or Alberdin)!

Andrea Sy

Frosh Intern, Treasury

Hiya folks, my name is Andrea Sy! I hail from a family of hot air ballooners. My family raises these balloons on our farm, and I am a world-renowned hot air balloon racer. I have many pet clouds, but they tend to change shapes, so I lose track of them a lot. Come play volleyball with me! I tend to play in the clouds, so the games are short, since if the ball falls back onto earth a lot. Always on cloud 9, I am always HAPPY WOO. I hope to meet you soon, as well as to take your money, as I am an intern for PASU PESO!
