Overview
We believe that the foundation of a cohesive community is one that is socially integrated. The Social Committee is responsible for organizing activities to promote bonding within our own members and with members of other communities as well. Some of our biggest social events include the Oval Meeting, which is part of our AASIB Program, our annual Bollywood party, and our Senior Send-off Grand Banquet. Ultimately, this committee serves to advance one of Sanskriti's major goals of providing a social outlet for Stanford's South Asian community.
Big Sib/Lil Sib Program
One of its primary jobs is to coordinate the Big Sib/Lil Sib program in conjunction with AASIB. This program is an opportunity for incoming freshmen to not only learn more about Sanskriti's role at Stanford, but to gain a sense of community as they get to know upperclassmen. Some of the events we have planned already for the upcoming year are the Oval Meeting, the Screw Your Sib' Dance, and much more. You can SIGN UP to be a big sib or lil' sib at www.stanford.edu/group/sibs/.
