Summer 2012 Auditions

Auditions for the Stanford Symphony Orchestra Summer Session will be held on Saturday, June 23 and Sunday 24 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the Braun Music Center.

The Stanford Symphony Orchestra is the largest instrumental ensemble on campus. Auditions for the Stanford Symphony Orchestra are open to all members of the Stanford community. Although students are given priority, we also welcome musicians from the local and non-Stanford community.

The audition material for 2011-2012 is posted below. Each audition will be 10 minutes long and will consist of two parts:

  • A solo work of your choice. This could be a part of a concerto, sonata, or a solo passage from a major orchestral work.
  • Orchestral excerpts. We have listed audition repertoire for each instrument. You can download and print them out using the links shown below. If you have difficulty getting music, please contact us at 650-725-2694.
