Welcome to Tau Beta Pi

Tau Beta Pi is the only engineering honor society representing the entire engineering profession. It is the nation's second oldest honor society, founded at Lehigh University by Edwards H. Williams Jr. in 1885 to recognize students of exemplary character and distinguished scholarship. There are now collegiate chapters at 221 US colleges and universities, active alumnus chapters in 16 regions across the United States and a total initiated membership of 429,000.

Winter/Spring Initiation

Initiation requirements/policies

Service Events

5 hours of general community service (onsite hours, not including transport time)

Honor system, candidates will report it on application

For non-TBP community service projects, candidates must participate in the project with other candidates for the hours to be applicable

Social Events

Mandatory events: BBQ info session + big event

Big event possibilities: Lasertag, Sky High/Dodgeball

Optional events: 2 ice cream/food socials (must attend at least 1 of 2)

If a candidate cannot attend the BBQ info session, he/she must attend all other social events

If a candidate cannot attend the Big event, he/she must do 3 more hours of service (for a total of 8 hours)
