Beginning Salsa Lesson

How about adding some Latin steps to your repertoire? Learn the basic footwork, the cross-body lead, and maybe even some turns!

Beginning Waltz Lesson & Café Night with Singles Mixer
Tuesday, Feb. 9th

Let the grace of the waltz whirl you away! This lesson is essential for those who need to learn or review the cross-step or rotary waltzes. All are welcome to enjoy Austrian pastries and open dancing at 8pm. As a bonus, please wear red tonight to find others who are also looking to attend the Ball!

Viennese Ball is not just for waltzing! One of the two ballrooms features the vibrant sounds of swing.

Many Stanford social dance regulars will be attending Jammix (a regular Stanford dance event), and we will be selling Viennese tickets there. Richard Powers will also be teaching his famous Bohemian National Polka choreography starting at 8pm.

Friday Night Waltz: Valentine's Dance

Entrance: $12

Friday Night Waltz is a weekly Palo Alto dance event. We will be selling tickets at Friday Night Waltz, and non-student tickets will be available for a $5 discount. In addition, we will raffle off two pairs of tickets to the Viennese Ball. The dance will also be preceded by a lesson in the Viennese Waltz, which will be useful at the Ball.

Add some spin to your style! Learn the rotary waltz and several of its variations. Recommended for dancers with prior waltz experience.

Sweeten your swing; add a sugar foot! If you are comfortable with six-count swing, you are ready to try the lindy hop! Learn the basic swingout and variations

Beginning Polka

Get swept up in the speed and energy of the polka! Come to the lesson to learn this cousin of the waltz so you can dance it at the ball!

Come try some delicious Austrian desserts and hear a live chamber quartet perform Austrian and German classics from Beethoven, Schumann, and Brahms.
