variety of dance lessons and events to get you in the mood and ready
for the big night. All lessons are free for ticket holders.

waltz whirl you
away! This lesson is essential for those who need to learn or review
the cross-step and rotary waltzes. Everyone is welcome to enjoy
Austrian desserts and open dancing at 8:00 pm.
Add some spin to your
style! You will
learn the rotary waltz and several of its variations. Recommended for
people with prior waltz experience.
Viennese Ball is not
just for waltzing!
One of the two ballrooms features the vibrant sounds of swing.
Beginners will learn six-count East Coast swing.
Remember Maria's dance
from The Sound of
Music? Now you can learn it! The Ländler is a folk dance that was
popular in Austria at the end of the 18th century. Recommended for
those comfortable with rotary waltz. Come after the lesson to watch the
film at 9:00 pm.
The Congress of Vienna
is an elegantly
choreographed waltz that will be played at the ball. Recommended for
those with knowledge of rotary waltz.
Sweeten your swing; add
a sugar foot! If
you are comfortable with six-count swing, you are ready to try lindy
hop, set to eight-count music. Learn the basic swingout and variations.
Get swept up in the
speed and energy of
the polka! First, come to the lesson to learn this cousin of the waltz.
Then, come brush up on all the dances you have learned at 9:00 pm.
