ASSISTANT COACH
JULIE PLANK

Julie Plank is a second member of Tara VanDerveer's staff who is Ohio State University-bred. She is also entering her 10th year as a Cardinal coach.

While Julie will be involved in practice coaching and daily interaction with the players, her areas of strength will include scouting and conditioning, as well as concentration on the guards. Julie is now also the scheduling co-ordinator.

Plank owns a Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary Education from Ohio State (1979-83), as well as a Master's degree in Strength Training and Conditioning from the same university (1984-85). She also owns a high school degree from Bishop Hartley High School (`79).

Prior to Stanford, Julie's chief coaching experience was at Capital University in Ohio for the 1983-84 and 1984-85 seasons, where she was an assistant women's basketball coach. In that same time period, she also acted as a graduate assistant strength training and conditioning coach at Ohio State. While at Capital, her team's records were 16-6, and then 23-2.

While a player at Ohio State (she played for three years under Tara VanDerveer), she co-captained the 1982-83 squad and was named the team's Most Inspirational Player that same season. The Buckeyes were Big Ten Champions in both `81-'82 and `82-'83.
