Biography

I was born in Seoul, Korea, but grew up in Phoenix (AZ). I attended Brown University, graduating in 2000 with an AB in International Relations, Urban Studies and Economics.

Prior to graduate school, I worked for Novation Associates (now Novantas), a management consulting firm specializing in the financial services industry. There, I worked on projects in the subprime mortgage and core banking sectors.

I began my graduate studies in 2003, receiving my PhD in Sociology (focus on Organizations, Business and the Economy) in June 2010. Starting October 2010, I will begin my postdoctoral fellowship at the Shorenstein Asia-Pacific Research Center at the Freeman-Spogli Institute for International Studies, Stanford University.

Besides Seoul, Phoenix and New York, I have lived in Providence (RI), Bridgewater (NJ), Washington (DC) and Boston (MA). I enjoy outdoors activities, sampling ethnic food, overseas travel and catching up with friends.
