New Products
The traditional approach to new product development involved the following sequential process:
- Idea Generation
- Concept Development
- Testing
- Launch
"New" new product development tends to involve more parallelism and less market testing, in order to speed the process. This involves using organizational forms that are more cross-functional (e.g., teams).
