The opportunity for a close encounter with these
cranes was the type of wildlife experience that takes your breath away.
Although the species as a whole is not considered endangered, the Florida subspecies is. We were lucky enough to have several encounters with them.

The cranes were feeding on the lawn of a crane in "downtown" Arcadia. At one point, this adult walked in front of this sign.
